After surviving against UNLV, Arizona Women’s Basketball (21-7, 10-6) returns to action to take on North Carolina (24-6, 13-5) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Survive and advance, that’s the mantra this time of year as Arizona Women’s Basketball returns to action to take on 5th-seeded North Carolina in what should be quite the showdown.

Coming into this matchup, the Wildcats and Tar Heels are considered an even matchup. North Carolina is a great and talented team racking up 24 wins (13 in the talented and deep ACC Conference).

On the flip side of that, Arizona has had its fair struggles of late, especially as the team has had to overcome several key injuries. Luckily, Arizona got a healthy Cate Reese back against UNLV, and she was a big part of that teams’ 72-67 win.

Against North Carolina, the challenge should be even greater. The Tar Heels are a great team, and Arizona is going to need a team effort in this one if they are going to come away victorious here.

Hopefully, head coach Adia Barnes and the Wildcats stay sharp and continue their winning ways with a little help from the friendly confines of McKale Center!
