The 2021-22 Arizona Basketball may be over, but the Wildcats are already getting plenty of preseason praise as they head into 2022-23.

Well, the College Basketball season is officially over, and now comes the long and agonizing off-season until Arizona Basketball finally tips off again.

And even though the Wildcats weren’t the ones cutting down the nets this season, overall, it was a rather successful first year under Tommy Lloyd.

However, the work in getting back to the NCAA Tournament, and defending their title as the top team in the Pac-12 Conference now begins for the Wildcats.

Coming into next season, Arizona should be considered one of the top teams in college basketball, especially as they are poised to return several key players from a roster that went to this years’ Sweet 16.

Garnering plenty of preseason love from several writers and publications, a lot will be dependent on the kind of personnel Arizona Basketball will return.

For starters, it is safe to say that Bennedict Mathurin is more than likely gone. The Canadian native was one of the top players in college basketball this season, he is projected to be a Top 10 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, and at this point, there isn’t much more for him to prove.

Beyond that, the biggest question(s) will be whether Christian Koloko comes back, who else is returning for the Cats, and who else Arizona may bring in via the transfer portal or through traditional recruiting methods.

Either way, by returning Dalen Terry, Kerr Kriisa, Azuolas Tubelis, Oumar Ballo, Pelle Larsson, Adama Bal, Shane Nowell, and adding Dylan Anderson, that should be just enough for Arizona to be considered a Top 25 team.

Should Tommy Lloyd get Koloko to return, as well as add another transfer, and Arizona could be just as good next season. It is no wonder why media and college basketball pundits alike are high on Arizona.

All we can say is that the 2022-23 Arizona Basketball season can’t come soon enough!
