Weeks into the Arizona Basketball off-season, Dalen Terry has now announced that he will head to the NBA while maintaining College Eligibility.

The 2021-22 season ended just a few weeks ago, and already head coach Tommy Lloyd and Arizona Basketball have seen significant roster turnover.

Well, on Friday afternoon, more changes were announced as sophomore forward Dalen Terry announced that he will be entering the 2022 NBA Draft.

Terry is the third Wildcat to declare for the draft, joining Bennedict Mathurin and Christian Koloko in recent weeks. However, the major difference here is that Dalen has elected to maintain his college eligibility, meaning he is leaving the door open to possibly come back for 2022-23.

For now, Arizona Basketball has to come to grips with Dalen Terry possibly not being with the Wildcats next season.

Originally a Phoenix native, since coming to Tucson Terry has steadily improved each year, becoming the ultimate glue guy for the Wildcats this past season, and especially during Arizona’s Sweet 16 Tournament run. Terry also started in all 37 games for the Wildcats this season.

The departure is unfortunate, but not entirely unprecedented. After all, Terry has a bright future ahead of him and he has a high ceiling as a basketball player. As we’ve seen a few times this year, he is a great two-way player that is steadily improving.

As it stands, Terry is currently ranked No. 43 on ESPN’s big draft board.

However, selfishly for us fans, the hope is that Terry uses this as an opportunity to find out where he needs to improve and come back for another season where he can be an even bigger impact player!

Here’s just a small reminder of how good he can be!
