Despite not getting drafted, former Wildcat Lucas Havrisik may have found an NFL team as he has received a camp invite from the Indianapolis Colts.

As we are all familiar with by now, it was an NFL Draft to forget for Arizona Football, as for the fifth time in 10 years, the Wildcats were shut out in the Draft. Luckily, it wasn’t all bad this weekend as Lucas Havrisik may also have an opportunity to make an NFL roster.

Just a day after the draft had concluded, news broke via social media that Havrisik had received a camp invite from the Indianapolis Colts.

Lucas came to Arizona a few years ago as a highly-touted kicker out of Norco High School in Riverside, CA, and after a fairly successful career with the Wildcats, he will have an opportunity to prove himself in the league.

Havrisik finishes his career having converted 34-53 (64.2 percent) field goals with a career-long of 57-yards. He is also 73-78 on his PATs.

Joining the Indianapolis Colts, former Wildcat Lucas Havrisik has the leg strength to be a mainstay in this league.

Lucas proved himself to be a rather solid collegiate kicker, kicking some impressive field goals in his career; however, where Havrisik seemed to prove himself to be incredibly valuable was on the Wildcats’ kickoffs.

In 305 attempts in his career, Havrisik kicked an impressive 232 touchbacks with an average of 63.0 yards on the kickoff.

However, with Indianapolis already having veteran kickers in Rodrigo Blankenship and Jake Verity, the road to getting on with the team could be a daunting one for him.

Luckily, Havrisik has the leg talent, and perhaps the opportunity is there for him to still get on with the team. Where Lucas will need to improve is with his accuracy. As we all saw during his career, accuracy is what seemed to have eluded him the most! Either way, we are excited for Lucas and are hopeful that he makes the roster!

Here’s just a little reminder of how good he can truly be!
