The 2022-23 Arizona Basketball season is just around the corner and the Wildcats have reportedly added Indiana to the schedule.

Do you want bigger non-conference opponents for the Wildcats? Well, you got ’em, as Arizona Basketball is reportedly adding Indiana to the schedule for the 2022-23 season.

Making news on Thursday afternoon, College basketball insider Jon Rothstein announced that Arizona and Indiana are finalizing an agreement to play each other.

Now, while nothing is officially confirmed as of yet, at this point, the game is projected to be a neutral-site game that will be held at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV on December 10.

And should the addition of Indiana happen, it also gives Arizona Basketball yet another big-time opponent for the 2022-23 season.

Already for 2022-23, Arizona will welcome Tennessee to Tucson as part of their home-and-home series that started last season.

But beyond that, the Wildcats will also take part in the Maui Invitational in Hawaii which will play host to Arkansas, Cincinnati, Creighton, Louisville, Ohio State, San Diego State, and Texas Tech. So, Arizona will have no shortage of high-profiled teams on their non-conference schedule.

Well, now it looks like Indiana is on track to join the Wildcats’ schedule as well…

Arizona and Indiana both have deep and rich basketball histories; however, as long as they have existed, they surprisingly have never faced each other. And should they square off next season, it will be the first-ever meeting.

And like the Wildcats’, the Hoosiers are trying to find their way, especially with Mike Woodson as head coach.

In his first season with Indiana this past year, Woodson led the Hoosiers to a 21-14 record, losing to Saint Mary’s in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to close out the season.

And also like Arizona, Indiana will have a solid group of players to lean on for the 2022-23 season, which should make for an intriguing matchup!
