Arizona Women’s Basketball adds ASU transfer Jade Loville
Arizona Women’s Basketball has had a tremendous off-season thus far, but that has all been outdone by the Wildcats adding ASU transfer, Jade Loville.
The 2021-22 Arizona Women’s Basketball season is long over at this point, and while making the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight year was a great accomplishment, last season was largely seen as a bit of an up and down one.
At times, the Wildcats seemed to lack some cohesiveness, and the offense was a bit disjointed, averaging just 67.2 points per game.
And coming into 2022-23, the Wildcats have been bit by the transfer bug, losing several key transfers that included Anna Great Asi, Koi Love, Aaronette Vonleh, and Bendu Yeaney most notably.
Luckily, head coach Adia Barnes and staff have done a tremendous job in adding some serious talent to supplement those losses.
Committed for 2022 are Maya Nnaji, Paris Clark, Kailyn Gilbert, and Lemyah Hylton, all considered Top 100 High School recruits according to ESPN.
Beyond that, Arizona Women’s Basketball has added several key transfers, which we’ve now learned includes ASU transfer, Jade Loville.
Making news on Tuesday afternoon, Jade announced her commitment to the Wildcats, this just after spending one season in Tempe. Loville previously played at Boise State from 2018-21.
However, as exciting as her commitment is, she is also joining former West Virginia forward Esmery Martinez and former Oklahoma State guard Lauren Fields who announced the transfer to Arizona just days prior.
All three additions should help the Wildcats immensely in 2022-23, but the big one is Loville. Aside from poaching a key player from our hated rivals, the 5-foot-11 wing was the Sun Devils’ leading scorer last season and was the second-leading scorer in the talented Pac-12 Conference.
In her lone season with the Sun Devils, Jade finished the year averaging 16.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game and was a big reason ASU upset then-No. 6 ranked Arizona in Tempe back in February, scoring 27 points.
That kind of scoring prowess was absent from the Wildcats last season, and she should help Arizona’s offense immensely.
At Zona Zealots, we are excited to see what kind of team the Wildcats will have in 2022-23!
