Arizona Basketball is gaining momentum with Kwame Evans Jr.
With Arizona Basketball recently jumping in the recruitment for 2023 forward Kwame Evans Jr., it appears the Wildcats are gaining a lot of momentum.
It wasn’t long ago that highly-touted five-star forward Kwame Evans Jr. announced his Top Five schools; however, that didn’t seem to stop Arizona Basketball and Tommy Lloyd from getting involved in this recruitment.
Finally giving a scholarship offer to the Monteverde Academy star back in April, the Wildcats have made up significant ground since then.
In the past month, Arizona has earned an official visit from Kwame that will happen next week, but beyond that, the Wildcats have now picked up a Crystal Ball prediction via 247Sports.
Making news via social media on Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Evans picked up the Crystal Ball prediction. Oregon had long been rumored the favorites, but perhaps a shift may be happening!
The work put in by Arizona Basketball in such a short time can not be overstated enough, as the Wildcats have made difference in this recruitment.
Tommy and Arizona are off to a great start in the recruiting class of 2023 and have already secured commitments from five-star point guard Kylan Boswell and four-star shooting guard KJ Lewis.
However, with it still being early, the Wildcats have plenty of time to add more pieces to class, and Evans appears to be the focus for now.
A budding star from the highly-touted Monteverde Prep in Florida, Evans is considered to be the No. 3 overall player in the class by 247Sports and is also considered to be the top-rated power forward. He is the No. 1 prospect from Florida as well!
At 6-foot-9, Kwame is a lengthy and athletic forward that can play inside or outside. He likes to play on the perimeter, he can score at all three levels, and he also uses his length and size well on defense. This is a kid with a lot of upside and potential.
Here’s to hoping the Wildcats do well on his official visit and can continue to make up ground in this recruitment!
