Gaining momentum in the recruiting class of 2023, Arizona Football has received a commitment from New Mexico defensive lineman, Tylen Gonzalez.

The 2022 Arizona Football season is still months away, and already the Wildcats are off to a hot start on the recruiting trail.

For those that didn’t know, the Wildcats hosted a myriad of recruits this weekend and reportedly picked up several commitments, the first one being New Mexico defensive lineman, Tylen Gonzalez.

Making news via social media on Sunday evening, the two-sport star from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, NM announced his commitment to the Wildcats!

Despite being an under-the-radar recruit, the Wildcats were quick to offer Tylen, and the New Mexico native wasted no time in picking the Wildcats!

Helping to bolster the defensive line for Arizona Football, overall, Tylen Gonzalez is a solid pick-up for the Wildcats.

Hailing from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, NM, Tylen joins the Wildcats despite not much being known about him.

Tylen comes in considered to be a bit of a project; however, at 6-feet-6-inches and 250 pounds and being a two-sport athlete, he is well worth the risk if you’re Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats.

So far, not much is known about Gonzalez and that certainly seems to be reflected in his non-ranking from several of the major scouting sites; however, that will likely change soon as Tylen projects to be a three-star athlete with more offers to come.

Arizona was smart to jump in early on this recruitment here as Tylen is one heck of an athlete. He already has a big frame that can add more weight while still being effective.

As of right now, it is unclear if Arizona will use him along the defensive line or offensive line; however, if you’re the Wildcats, it is great to have options with him.

He plays with a lot of energy, has size and quickness, and he moves well for a player of his size. Based on his film the kid oozes raw, and untapped talent!
