The 2023 recruiting class is steadily taking form for Arizona Football as the Wildcats have added three-star running back, Brandon Johnson.

We’re still weeks until the start of the 2022 Arizona Football season, and already the Wildcats are steadily making progress on their 2023 recruiting class.

Making news via social media on Tuesday afternoon, the Wildcats have received yet another commitment for 2023, this time it is from three-star running back, Brandon Johnson.

Picking the Wildcats over offers from Colorado State, Columbia, Fresno State, Harvard, Princeton, Washington, and Yale, among several others, Brandon becomes the 12th commitment in the class.

Coming in, Brandon is considered to be the No. 75 overall rated running back in the class of 2023, and is also the No. 142 ranked player from the talent-rich state of California according to 247Sports’ ranking services.

Hailing from Highland High School in Palmdale, CA, Brandon Johnson helps continue to bolster the running back position for Arizona Football.

So far this off-season, the Wildcats have focused on addressing its defense, and unlike their last several commitments, Brandon is yet another offensive weapon added to the team.

Considered to be a bit of an under-the-radar type recruit, Brandon is a kid that is steadily picking up interest from several teams, as he now has an offer list that is currently at 12 teams and growing.

Arizona had Johnson on campus this past weekend, and naturally, the Wildcats picked up his commitment, and the Cats were smart to move in early.

Johnson is a standout from Highland High School in Southern California and is coming off of a huge junior season in which he ran for 1,580 yards on 169 carries with 19 touchdowns. He also averaged an impressive 9.3 yards per carry according to Maxpreps.

On film, Johnson is a physically gifted player that can score anytime he touches the football. He is quick and elusive and runs well, he also doesn’t shy away from contact, running with physicality between the tackles if he needs to.
