Is Arizona Basketball in the driver’s seat for Kwame Evans Jr.?
Continuing to gain steam in the 2023 recruiting class, Arizona Basketball may now be in the driver’s seat for five-star forward, Kwame Evans Jr.
It wasn’t long ago that highly-touted 2023 five-star forward Kwame Evans Jr. announced his Top Five schools that didn’t include Arizona Basketball, but luckily, that didn’t stop Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats from getting involved in this recruitment.
In the subsequent weeks/months since that announcement, Arizona offered Kwame, earned an official visit, and has made up significant ground since.
Well, after earning one Crystal Ball pick just weeks ago, it was announced via social media that Arizona picked up a few more Crystal Ball predictions for Kwame.

For those that didn’t know, Oregon had long been rumored the favorites here; however, it seems the momentum has completely shifted, and now the Wildcats may lead.
The work put in by Arizona Basketball in such a short time can not be overstated enough, as the Wildcats have made difference for Kwame Evans Jr.
Tommy Lloyd and Arizona have been staying busy over the past several weeks, not only securing commitments from five-star point guard Kylan Boswell and four-star shooting guard KJ Lewis for 2023 but also picking up several commitments for 2022 as well.
And luckily for us, that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon as the Wildcats are doing well with the highly-touted Monteverde Prep star.
In case you didn’t know, Evans is considered to be the No. 3 overall player in the class by 247Sports and is also considered to be the top-rated power forward, as well as the No. 1 prospect from Florida.
The Wildcats have done a tremendous job in recruiting Kwame, and should he finally commit, he would be a huge addition to a class that is becoming one of the best for 2023.
Kwame is a lengthy and athletic forward that can play inside or outside and can score at all three levels. He uses his length and size well on defense to disrupt passing lanes and challenge shots, and heading into his senior season, he still has a lot of upside and potential.
Here’s a small reminder of how good he can be!
