The NBA off-season is alive and well, and with the NBA Draft upon us, former Wildcat Deandre Ayton could soon be on the move.

As we are all too aware of by now, it is that the Phoenix Suns’ season ended in title-less heartbreak, and the future of this team’s roster could be soon changing, most namely with former Wildcats Deandre Ayton, the 2018 No. 1 Draft pick.

Just 23, Ayton concluded his fourth season in the NBA averaging 17.2 points and 10.2 rebounds en route to helping the Suns to a league-best 64-18 record. However, the Suns’ year ended with a disappointing second-round loss to Dallas.

Amid the Suns’ playoff struggles, Ayton seemingly took the brunt of the criticism from fans, many calling him a disappointment, or the reason why the Suns didn’t advance. And when you are the former No. 1 draft pick who has been vocal in seeking a maximum deal for the last year, naturally, there are going some critics.

At this point, it seems likely that the Ayton era in Phoenix is likely over as the two parties have been at odds as no deal has been reached.

Instead, rumors are swirling that  just ahead of the NBA Draft, former Wildcat Deandre Ayton could be on the move.

Deandre Ayton has entered the off-season as a big-time free agent, and so far, there seemingly have been several teams rumored to be inquiring about the services of the former Wildcat. The latest being the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks.

Now granted, Ayton could still end up signing with the Suns as he is technically a restricted free agent, and Phoenix could match any offer made. Should he accept, he would play in Phoenix for one more year until he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2023.

There is still also a possibility that Ayton could be shipped out via a sign-and-trade deal, meaning the Suns resign him, and then trade him for picks, prospects, players, etc.

Either way, we could soon know Deandre’s future in the NBA!
