Joining fellow Wildcat Bennedict Mathurin in the first round of the NBA Draft, Dalen Terry gets selected No. 17 overall by the Chicago Bulls.

He took a gamble and it paid off big time. Leaving the University of Arizona in hopes of becoming a first-round draft pick, former Wildcat Dalen Terry had his dream come true on Thursday evening.

As we all thought, Bennedict Mathurin was the first Wildcat off the board, being taken by the Indiana Pacers with the No. 6 overall pick.

However, while Mathurin going Top 10 wasn’t at all shocking, perhaps in some ways, seeing Terry taken in the first round was.

Coming in, there was a belief Dalen could sneak in the first round, especially since he has tremendous upside and he is just barely tapping into his raw potential.

Well, on Thursday evening, while the festivities were taking place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, Terry waited patiently at a Draft party in Scottsdale amongst his family, friends, and piers.

And as the picks came and went, at No. 18 overall, Terry finally heard his name called, being selected by the Chicago Bulls.

Becoming the first Wildcat selected by the Chicago Bulls, Dalen Terry should be a pleasant surprise for fans in the Windy City.

Becoming the 76th Wildcat to be drafted into the NBA, Chicago is going to get a hardworking and talented player in Terry.

And as a recap, here is who the Bulls will be getting!

2022 NBA Draft Selection: 1st Round, 18th Pick (Chicago Bulls)

As we all saw, Dalen Terry did a little bit of everything for Arizona Basketball as a high-level role player and key starter this past season.

Primarily playing off the ball in several situations, Terry has the length and athleticism to thrive at the next level and has a shot that became more consistent as the season went on.

He is a hardworking kid with tremendous upside, and with continued development, Dalen Terry has found a home with Chicago where he should fit in quite nicely.
