Months after being named the BBL MVP, former Wildcat Parker Jackson-Cartwright is on the move, signing with French LNB Pro A team, Asvel Villeurbanne.

It is always great hearing about former Wildcats finding success beyond their careers at the University of Arizona, and for Parker Jackson-Cartwright, he is continuing to flourish in his professional basketball career.

A once highly-touted point guard in the class of 2014, the Southern California native was believed to be a big-time prospect with lots of potential for the Wildcats. After all, e was a standout at Loyola High School in Los Angeles, CA.

Unfortunately, Parker never quite lived up to many of the lofty expectations that some had for him while he was in Tucson.

Luckily for him, Parker has flourished since leaving Arizona, making a path for himself in professional basketball as he played in the G-League, the British Basketball League (BBL), the LNB Pro B, and most recently, Basketball Bundesliga.

A change of scenery is all it seemingly took as playing overseas has been extremely kind to Parker. In the past few years, Parker has won the British Basketball League (BBL), the LNB Pro B MVP, and now the Basketball Bundesliga MVP.

Every obstacle in front of him, he has overcome and following a season in which he finished with 20.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game for TelekomBaskets, Parker is on the move again.

Making news on Wednesday afternoon, it was announced that former Wildcat Parker Jackson-Cartwright will sign with Asvel Villeurbanne.

The move for Parker means he should see a bit of a jump in competition, after all, the LNB Pro A League is the top-tier men’s professional basketball league in France.

The league features 16 teams and has been in existence for over 100 years, and has featured several big-name players at one point including, Udonis Haslem, Frank Ntilikina, Bruce Bowen, and Evan Fournier among several others.

Either way, we are extremely excited for Parker and cannot wait to see him flourish at the next level!
