The 2022-23 Arizona Basketball is slowly approaching, and with several months to go still, the Wildcats may have to rely on its transfers heavily.

It has been a rather fortuitous couple of months for Arizona Basketball. For starters, the Wildcats had three players drafted in the NBA Draft last week, and they replaced them with several key commitments for 2022.

However, on the flip side of that, trying to replace the type of production that the Wildcats lost is no easy feat. Especially, when it involves losing two first-round draft picks, one of them being a Top 10 pick.

Luckily, Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats have done a nice job in bringing enough talent to be competitive in 2022-23.

But coming into next season, if Arizona Basketball is going to be successful, a lot will depend on the play of its transfers.

When you look at next year’s team, it is clear that the Wildcats will have some gaps on its roster, and as a result, they will have to rely on some of their new additions to fill those voids, specifically with their veteran transfers.

And in case you missed it, the Wildcats added Texas transfer, Courtney Ramey, as well as Campbell transfer, Cedric Henderson Jr.

Together, the two won’t make up for losing Bennedict Mathurin, Dalen Terry, or Christian Koloko; however, they should be a great one-year stop gap until Kylan Boswell and KJ Evans arrive.

For Courtney, expect the former Longhorn to be a day one starter in the backcourt along with Kerr Kriisa. He is a sharpshooter with veteran leadership experience and good ball-handling skills. Overall, he should be relied upon heavily.

As for Cedric, he should also be able to come in and play a major role right at wing. He was a high-level contributor while at Campbell, and while he may not have the same production at Arizona, he is still a great value add.

Cedric offers length and athleticism, he is coachable and can score at all three levels. Overall, he should be a huge contributor to the Wildcats as well, and if he and Courtney live up to some of the lofty expectations, the Wildcats should be in a great place to succeed in 2022-23.
