In the midst of a long offseason, Arizona Basketball wing Pelle Larsson will team up with the Swedish National team this Summer for a 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifying game.

It has been a busy offseason thus far for Arizona Basketball, and specifically for Pelle Larsson as the Wildcats’ wing will be making preparations for the 2022-23 overseas.

Making news just days ago, it was revealed that Larsson is with the Swedish National team where he is getting ready to play in an upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup qualifying game.

Despite Pelle trying to play with the Swedish National team last summer, Larsson has rejoined the Swedes this summer, and he will travel to Finland to take on former Wildcat Lauri Markkanen for a FIBA Qualifying game.

Larsson of course, played in a reserve capacity for the Wildcats this past season and proved to be a big-time contributor off the bench.

Coming into 2022-23, Pelle Larsson should have an even bigger role with Arizona Basketball, and this summer could provide invaluable experience for him.

This past season, Larsson finished his year by averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. And coming into next season, he should have an even bigger role as he has become one of Arizona’s better defenders and offensive contributors. Plus, he provides plenty of veteran and leadership experience.

FIBA Qualifying action for Larsson and Team Sweden will begin on Thursday at 8:30 A.M (Arizona Time) when they take on Finland.

Larsson and Team Sweden will then follow that up by playing against NBA Superstar Luka Dončić and the Slovenian National Team on Sunday.

Other Wildcats that are participating…

According to the Arizona Daily Star, also participating in the FIBA Qualifying action are current Wildcats Oumar Ballo (Mali) and incoming freshman, Henri Veesaar (Estonia).

Ballo and the Mali National Team will play against Uganda on Friday, meanwhile, Veesaar and the Estonian National Team will take on Germany on Thursday followed by a game against Israel on Sunday.
