Arizona Football schedules Prairie View A&M for 2028
The 2022 Arizona Football season may be just around the corner, but future planning and scheduling are still ongoing as the Wildcats have added Prairie View A&M.
We are now in year two of the Jedd Fisch era, and already the future of Arizona Football is continuing to take shape as the Wildcats are scheduling out their non-conference opponent’s in the coming years.
Well, making news on Monday afternoon, FBSchedules.com announced that the Wildcats will play to host to Prairie View A&M in 2028.
A small FCS school from Prairie View, Texas, the Panthers are set to come to Tucson on Sept. 9, 2028, this just one week after the Wildcats open the 2028 season against Mountain West opponent, the Colorado State Rams.
Already, Arizona Football has all of its non-conference games scheduled for 2028, with Prairie View A&M taking the last slot.
As we should all be aware of by now, it is that scheduling for football games is done well in advance, and already, the Wildcats have their three, non-conference games scheduled for 2028, with a matchup at Nebraska being the final non-conference game.
Beyond that, Arizona already has a majority of its scheduling done, with very few spots left open in their future non-conference schedules.
As for Prairie View A&M, they are a solid FCS opponent that hails from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, an athletic conference that is made up of several historically black colleges and universities.
Coached by first-year head coach Bubba McDowell, the Panthers are coming off of a very respectable season in which PVAMU finished 7-5 last season and played in their conference title game. Overall, the Panthers are 0-9 against FBS opponents.
For fans looking for some exciting matchups for Arizona in the coming seasons, start marking your calendars now! The Wildcats will take on Mississippi State (’22 & ’23), Kansas State (’24 & ’25), Nebraska (’28 & ’31), Virginia Tech (’29 & ’30), and Alabama (’32 & ’33).
