Continuing to make progress in the recruiting class of 2023, Arizona Football adds another big-time commitment from Las Vegas offensive lineman, Elijha Payne.

Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats are on fire! With the 2022 Arizona Football season quickly approaching, the Wildcats have added another big-time commitment for 2023, bringing their total up to 17 commitments.

Making news late on Tuesday afternoon, the Wildcats officially added 2023 three-star offensive lineman, Elijha Payne.

Announcing his commitment via social media, Payne made it official, picking Arizona despite receiving offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida State, Oregon, and Georgia Tech among several others.

A standout athlete from the talented Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, NV, Elijha comes to Tucson as a three-star rated recruit and is considered to be the No. 656 ranked player in the class, the No. 56 overall ranked player for his position, and is the No. 6 rated player from Nevada according to 247Sports’ Composite ranking services.

Standing a massive 6-feet-7-inches and weighing 285 pounds, Elijha Payne is a much-needed addition to Arizona Football offensive line.

So far this off-season, the Wildcats have focused on addressing its defense; however, it is still clear that they need more talent and depth along the offensive line. That is why adding a player of Elijha’s caliber is huge.

Likely to be a tackle for the Wildcats at the next level, Payne is a kid that is both big and athletic. He moves well for a player his size, and with continued development, he will add nice depth to this roster.

On film, Elijha is a physically gifted player that possesses good footwork and active hands. He is quick and explosive off of the line scrimmage, and with his big frame still filling out, Elijha should still be effective without losing that explosiveness.

Overall, you can see that the talent is there and with continued development, he is going to be a solid lineman at the next level!

Hot. Worst option for Arizona Athletics and Pac-12 is doing nothing. light
