With the 2022 football season just around the corner for Arizona, several Wildcats have been named to the Pac-12 preseason all-conference team.

With the Pac-12 Media Day happening in the coming days, the conference released its preseason all-conference team selections just ahead of the action, and on the list are four Arizona players.

The list made news via social media on Tuesday afternoon as the all-conference team’s selections were revealed, and overall, our Wildcats were well represented.

Punter Kyle Ostendorp made the first team after a tremendous 2021 campaign. But also on the list were; defensive lineman Kyon Barrs (second-team selection), wide receiver Jacob Cowing (second-team selection), meanwhile cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace was given an honorable mention.

Despite a challenging 2021, Arizona Football has been drawing a lot of praise within the Pac-12 just ahead of the 2022 season.

So far, it has been a busy off-season for several of our Wildcats as in recent days, Ostendorp was named a preseason second-team All-American by Sporting News.

Meanwhile, Barrs was named to the Outland Trophy and Lott IMPACT Trophy watchlists, and UTEP transfer Jacob Cowing was named to the Maxwell Award and Biletnikoff Award watchlists.

Christian Roland-Wallace was the other Wildcat to draw some praise from the conference. Even though he did not land on any preseason watchlists, the Wildcats’ corner was an honorable mention and should be poised for a potentially big year. In 2021, CRW totaled 48 tackles (33 solo), 3.0 tackles for loss, with 1.5 sacks, an interception, and two pass breakups.

Things will ramp up for Arizona in the coming days as preseason training camp is set to begin next week. But before that, Arizona along with safety Christian Young, Jedd Fisch, and Cowing will be in attendance at the annual Pac-12 Football Media Day event in Los Angeles on Friday.

Arizona’s first game is set for September 3 as the Wildcats kick off the season against San Diego State on the road.
