With fall camp starting this week for Arizona Football, the Wildcats should be in a better position heading into the 2022 season.

It has been a long and arduous road for Arizona Football in getting to where they are at currently. The team is coming off of a 1-11 season and in some ways is now in year one as they have brought in several new players as part of this rebuild.

Just ahead of the start of fall camp, head coach Jedd Fisch said just as such “We got here and we really weren’t in a situation to build the program because we weren’t bringing in anybody… So the build is started now that there’s an influx of players and facility changes.”

Arizona begins its preparations for the 2022 season with fall camp starting on Wednesday morning inside the Cole and Jeannie Davis Sports Center, and coming in, the Wildcats will have a lot of work to do before their season starts on Sept. 3.

Luckily for us, as Arizona Football heads into the 2022 season, the Wildcats should be in a better position.

“We’re a better football team. The players that were on our roster last year that are on our roster this year have improved. They’ve committed to being better in the weight room, they’ve committed to being better in film study, they’ve committed to being better fundamentally.”

However, that only goes so far! Arizona will have to improve quickly if they are going to be a more competitive football team this season. “We’ll have to see if our team can come together in this training camp and how well we can play as a team.”

The challenge won’t be easy to start the year either. Arizona’s first game is against San Diego State on the road, a team they lost to 38-14 in Tucson last season. Beyond that, the Aztecs are fresh off of a 12-2 season and will be debuting their new stadium. The Wildcats will most assuredly be underdogs in that game like in many others.

Either way, we are excited for the upcoming season and the fresh start in Tucson. Overall, Arizona should be in a better position for 2022, let’s just hope it also shows in the win-loss column.
