Despite being undrafted, former Wildcat Stanley Berryhill III has been impressive with the Atlanta Falcons just ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Stanley Berryhill III has had a unique road in getting to where he is at. The former Wildcat was once a high school standout in Tucson who then decided to transfer to Orange Lutheran in Southern California his senior year, in hopes of potentially gaining more exposure as a recruit.

Unfortunately, that did not quite pan out, as Stanley did not see the offers he was hoping for. Instead, Stanley made his way BACK to Tucson, walking on with the Wildcats in 2017 before redshirting.

While in Tucson, Berryhill would slowly make a name for himself as a high-level contributor, eventually earning himself a scholarship under previous head coach Kevin Sumlin.

He would go on to appear in 37 games with the Wildcats, amassing 1,477 yards receiving on 139 receptions with nine touchdowns. He also had another 144 yards rushing on 21 carries.

Hoping to play football professionally, former Wildcat Stanley Berryhill III has also had an unorthodox path in getting to the NFL.

After a rather successful collegiate career in Tucson, Stanley hoped to get drafted into the NFL, but unfortunately, that would not happen. Instead, it would be befitting for him to earn his opportunity, much like he did in Tucson.

Landing in Atlanta as an undrafted free agent, Stanley has had to work his way in, proving his worth with the organization over the past several weeks.

And so far, Stanley has been impressive, turning several heads in camp with the Atlanta Falcons. Proving his worth as a slot receiver and special teams player, Berryhill has been so impressive, that he may have a realistic chance at earning a roster spot.

At Zona Zealots, we are excited for Stanley and hope he continues to get opportunities to prove himself. Berryhill and the Falcons will take on the Detroit Lions on Friday when they kick off their pre-season schedule.
