With fall camp just around the corner for Arizona Football, success for the Wildcats will be contingent on the overall play of the offense.

We are just 11 days from Arizona Football kicking off against San Diego State and officially starting the 2022 season. And coming into the year, there are plenty of questions about this team.

Already it has been a rather busy but productive fall for Arizona as the Wildcats broke in several new players in hopes of turning this program around even more.

Now, while things have certainly looked positive over the past few months; however, what matters above all else is how this team will look when they finally take to the field.

And coming into the season, expectations are still fairly low, especially as the Cats look to distance themselves from that rather disappointing 1-11 finish in 2021.

With Arizona Football predicted to finish near the bottom in the Pac-12, perhaps they could surprise some people; however, what will success look like in 2022?

With expectations being all over the place for the Wildcats in 2022, we define what success will look like for Arizona this season.

Did the Wildcats improve from Year 1 to Year 2?

For about the past four to five seasons in Tucson, it has been a steady regression with the Wildcats, meaning each team from the year prior was better than the one being currently fielded.

And perhaps for the first time in quite a while, the Wildcats looked like a competent group that was willing to fight until the end.

In year two under coach Jedd Fisch, on paper, Arizona is significantly so the hope is that translates to the play on the field.

Did Arizona look more competitive?

Coinciding a bit with the previous point, Arizona was competitive in some games, but a few times last season they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter before their opponent ran away with things.

Hopefully, Arizona will be in more games this season and for longer, ultimately, giving the Wildcats more opportunities to win games.

With improved talent and continued, that should be feasible, but let’s just hope that the Wildcats are a more competitive group in 2022.

Did the Wildcats stay Healthy?

Seemingly always an issue with this program, hopefully, this is an area that the Wildcats can improve in in 2022.

Overall, the talent for the Wildcats is better this season; however, depth may still be an issue, especially among the 2nd group, which is why health is so important with this group.

If healthy, Arizona will be a better team top-to-bottom, but if the Wildcats cannot stay healthy, things could get a little scary from that point on.
