With Arizona Football set to host Mississippi State this weekend, the Wildcats will also host highly-recruited local Edge Rusher, Elijah Rushing.

We’re now into week two of the Arizona Football season, and already the Wildcats are turning some heads following their upset win over San Diego State this past weekend.

And with Arizona playing host to Mississippi State this weekend, the Wildcats will also play host to the highly-recruited local edge rusher, Elijah Rushing.

A 6-foot-6, 235-pound athlete, Rushing hails from Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, AZ, and is just located a few miles from campus.

Elijah is not only one of the top prospects in the state, but he is also one of the top players in the class of 2024, having received several offers from Arizona State, Clemson, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Oregon among several others according to 247Sports.

And making news via social media on Tuesday afternoon, it was announced by Rushing that he will be at the game this Saturday, taking everything in.

Since joining Arizona Football, Jedd Fisch & the Wildcats have seen an uptick in recruiting, and hopefully, they can make continued progress with Elijah Rushing.

Jedd Fisch and Arizona have been staying busy and aggressive on the recruiting trail, unafraid of competing against the top teams in college football for some of the top prospects. Elijah seems to be one of those.

A local standout at Salpointe, the Wildcats have not had much recent success in recruiting the local, Catholic high school, but with Fisch’s arrival, the hope is that soon changes.

At 6-feet-6-inches and 235 pounds, he is one of the top edge rushers, and he possesses high upside.

According to 247Sports’ Recruiting Analyst Blair Angulo, here is what he had to say about the Tucson-area standout:

"Long, high-upside frame with plus-plus wingspan. Tall in stature with major physical potential to add mass. Explosive edge rusher with impressive mobility. Flashes elite pass-rush ability with an array of moves. Shows great flexibility to bend and maneuver past blocks. Displays terrific hand usage to disengage while maintaining forward momentum. Attacks gaps with purpose and shows ability to counter. Could continue to add strength and improve in run support. Potential multi-year starter at elite Power Five level and projects as a Day 1 NFL Draft selection."

Here’s just a little preview of the talented edge rusher!
