With Arizona Football taking on No. 12 USC next weekend, former Wildcat Rob Gronkowski aka Gronk, will be the Honorary Captain for Homecoming.

It will be a busy weekend for Arizona Football next weekend when the Wildcats welcome No.12 USC to town for Homecoming.

But beyond Arizona hosting the Trojans, it will be a jam-packed week as the Wildcats will be inducting a trio of former Cats into the infamous Ring of Honor, as well as playing host to former Wildcat great, Rob Gronkowski aka Gronk.

Making news via social media on Friday afternoon, it was announced that the former Wildcat tight end will be the honorary captain for the Wildcats in their game against the Trojans.

Returning to Tucson for the first time since the 2021 Spring Game, Gronk is once again reuniting with Arizona Football.

It is always great seeing former Wildcats hanging around the program, especially when one of those players happens to be the widely popular and fun-loving Gronk.

Since first joining the Wildcats in 2007, the Amherst native has had a major impact on the program, especially as he finished his career playing in 22 games, amassing 1,197 yards receiving and 16 touchdowns on 75 receptions.

But beyond that, we later saw the kind of impact he has on Arizona Football when he brought exposure last Spring when he performed the then record-breaking 600-foot football catch from a helicopter.

He then topped that by leading the Red Team to victory over the Tedy Bruschi-led Blue Team in the Spring Game last year.

Now, he will be returning to the Cats for good reason, and we can’t wait to see him in Tucson again!
