Moving along in the 2022 college football season, Arizona Football quarterback Jayden de Laura  has landed on the Manning Award Watch List.

Now entering week eight of the college football season, Arizona Football quarterback Jayden de Laura continues to impress in his first season with the Wildcats.

And making news via social media on Friday morning, de Laura was one of 12 additions put on the 2022 Manning Award Watch List.

An award that is sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl in honor of the Mannings (Archie, Peyton, and Eli), it is presented annually to college football’s top quarterback.

And since its inception in 2005, Arizona unfortunately has not had a player win this award.

Returning to action for week eight against No. 10 USC, Arizona Football quarterback Jayden de Laura will look to continue his strong play.

Since joining Arizona Football this season, the former Washington State transfer and Hawaii native has been a pleasant surprise for the Wildcats.

Coming in, many knew de Laura would become the Wildcats’ starter, especially after coming off of a spectacular freshman campaign with the Cougars. However, the question was, just how quickly would he adapt?

Well, through seven games, Jayden has 2,274 yards passing with 19 touchdowns to just seven interceptions on 174 of 275 pass attempts. He is a big reason why the team is currently 3-4, and the offense is one of the best in the country.

Granted, we know his chances of winning the Manning Award may be slim; however, seeing our Wildcats get recognition with the National Media as well as gain exposure is welcomed! Here’s to hoping he finishes out the year, strong!
