With Arizona Football taking on Washington State this weekend, former Wildcat Scooby Wright will be in attendance as the Honorary Captain.

It will be a busy weekend for Arizona Football when the Wildcats welcome Washington State to town for Military Appreciation week.

And beyond Arizona hosting the Cougars, it will be a jam-packed week as the Wildcats will also be welcoming former Wildcat Scooby Wright back into town.

Making news via social media on Thursday morning, it was announced that the former Wildcat linebacker will be the honorary captain for the Wildcats in their game against the Trojans.

Returning to Tucson for the first time since this summer, Scooby Wright will once again reunite with the Arizona Football team.

It is always great seeing former Wildcats hanging around the program, especially when one of those former players happens to be the highly-accomplished and fan-favorite, Scooby.

First joining the Wildcats as a lowly two-star prospect in 2013, the Windsor, CA native had a major impact on the program from day one.

From bursting onto the scene as a star freshman and earning Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 honors; however, Wright will forever be remembered for his stellar sophomore campaign which helped Arizona to a 10-4 record, a Pac-12 South Championship, and a Fiesta Bowl appearance.

Wright finished 2014 with an impressive 164 tackles, 31.0 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and five forced fumbles.

Scooby finished his career at Arizona appearing in 30 games, garnering 270 tackles (159 solo), 43.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, an interception, and five forced fumbles.

Even though his NFL career didn’t quite pan out, Scooby saw a resurgence of sorts this past summer as he helped guide the Birmingham Stallions to the USFL Championship.

Now, Scooby will be returning to the Cats for good reason, and we can’t wait to see him in Tucson again!
