The 2022 Arizona Football season ended yesterday, and already the Wildcats have received a commitment from Hamilton Linebacker Taye Brown.

Things are progressing very quickly in Tucson, and with the 2022 season now over, the focus for Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football has turned to the recruiting class for 2023.

And making news on Saturday afternoon, the Wildcats have secured their 20th commitment class, this time adding 2023 three-star linebacker, Taye Brown.

Announcing his commitment via social media, Taye picked the Wildcats despite receiving offers from Kansas State, San Diego State, Air Force, and New Mexico State among several others.

A standout from the talented Hamilton High School from just up the road in Chandler, AZ, Taye comes to Tucson as an underrated three-star rated recruit in the class.

Overall, he is considered to be the No. 161 ranked linebacker in the class of 2023, as well as the No. 32 ranked player from the state of Arizona according to 247Sports’ scouting services.

Standing a lengthy 6-feet-2-inches and weighing 220 pounds, Taye Brown is another solid defensive addition for Arizona Football.

Coming into the off-season, it has been clear that the Wildcats are wanting to prioritize its recruiting defense, preferably at linebacker as the talent and depth were not where they needed to be this season.

And so far in the recruiting class of 2023, Fisch and Co. have not disappointed, as the class is mostly comprised of defensive recruits. Brown is just the latest that has been added to a quickly growing list.

Concluding his senior season, Taye had a solid year at Hamilton High School in which he totaled 91 tackles (47 solo), with 10.0 tackles for loss, 10.0 sacks, 14 hurries, two interceptions, and two pass deflections.

Taye is a bit of an under-the-radar recruit, but overall, he is a long, athletic, and physical player linebacker that possesses a great motor and solid instincts. He reads and surveys the field well, and his size should allow him to challenge for early playing time, as well as help provide immediate depth.

With continued coaching and development, Taye could turn into a solid player, but overall, this kid oozes talent and potential in his film!
