Arizona Football signs Jedd Fisch to a Contract Extension

With a relatively successful season in the books, Arizona Football has rewarded head coach Jedd Fisch by giving him an extension through 2027. 

The Jedd Fisch era of Arizona Football is quickly pressing along, and despite a rather challenging 2021, Fisch and the Wildcats showed a lot of progress this season.

From winning just one game in 2021, and being predicted to win 2.5 games in 2022, Arizona exceed expectations this year as they won five games and knocked off then No. 12 UCLA, as well as snapped their five-game losing streak to ASU.

Naturally, with the progress Arizona showed in year two, you would extend your head coach, and that is exactly what Arizona did!

Breaking the news via social media, Arizona Football announced that the Wildcats are extending Coach Fisch.

Now granted, this is all pending approval from the Arizona Board of Regents; however, I do not see any scenario where this does not get approved.

Jedd’s original contract ran through 2025, but with this new one, Fisch would receive a small bump in pay; however, there are no official numbers just yet.

The pending contract extension would reward Jedd Fisch as well as solidify the future of Arizona Football.

Year two of the Jedd Fisch era went about as well as anyone could have imagined. He brought in several talented players on offense that resulted in two, 1,000-yard receivers, and Arizona played an exciting brand of football that resulted in five wins.

It would be hard to argue against the pay increase since the Wildcats are poised to potentially have a couple of NFL Draft picks, and the young core talent is strong.

Big things are on the horizon in Tucson, especially as Fisch is putting together a solid recruiting class for 2023, and is still in play for several key recruits for this year and next year! That is why this contract extension comes with perfect timing!
