Several Arizona Wildcats snubbed in Pac-12 All-Conference Honors
Despite a respectable 2022 season, several Arizona Wildcats were snubbed as the Pac-12 announced their All-Conference selections.
Arizona’s Football team had a respectable 2022 season when you consider the expectations coming into the year.
Overall, the Arizona Wildcats showed major improvement on the field, quintupling their win total from one game a year ago to five this season. Arizona also snapped ASU’s five-game win streak in the Territorial Cup.
And following a rather solid 2022 season, it seemed as if the Wildcats were destined to make a splash with the postseason awards.
Unfortunately, as the Pac-12 announced their All-Conference selections, several Arizona Wildcats were snubbed with the postseason honors.
Making news on Tuesday afternoon, the conference announced their all-conference honors, and despite Arizona’s improved on-field product, the Wildcats were snubbed on the Pac-12 All-Conference Team selections.
Leading the way for the Wildcats was wide receiver Dorian Singer. Despite leading the conference with 1,105 receiving yards and adding six touchdowns, Singer was just a Second-Team All-Conference selection, Arizona’s highest honoree.
Former UTEP transfer Jacob Cowing was just an honorable mention with 1,026 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
Also listed as honorable mention selections were Jordan Morgan (who currently projects as a potential, early NFL Draft Pick), and Tetairoa McMillan an honorable All-Freshman selection despite being tied for first in the conference for the most receiving touchdowns.
Beyond them, the Pac-12 had just as many egregious Arizona snubs. Linebacker Jacob Manu was also an honorable mention for the All-Freshman defensive award, quarterback Jayden de Laura, running back Michael Wiley, offensive linemen Jonah Savaiinaea, and kicker Tyler Loop were all just honorable mentions.
In total, seven Arizona Wildcats earned Pac-12 All-Conference honors, but only one made an all-team selection. In short, the Wildcats were disrespected!
