Arizona Basketball debuts 1997 Retro Uni’s against Indiana
With No. 10 Arizona Basketball taking on No. 14 Indiana in a marquee showdown for the Las Vegas Clash, the Wildcats will don their 1997 retro unis.
The Arizona Basketball uniforms this season are getting better and better. Long gone are the god-awful gradients that lasted six, agonizingly long seasons.
And months after the Wildcats debuted a new and improved look for the 2022-23 season, Arizona is now turning the clocks back a bit for another retro look this season.
Making news on Saturday morning just ahead of their marquee matchup against No. 14 Indiana in the Las Vegas Clash, the Arizona Basketball social media page announced that Arizona will be donning their infamous uniforms worn during the 1997 season.
A look that is sure to be welcomed by Arizona Basketball fans everywhere, the Wildcats nailed the nostalgia on this one!
Over the years, Arizona has lived through some pretty bad uniforms/looks. From the days of the thin stripe with the awkward duct tape-looking sleeves to the Hyper Elite Platinum alternates, and most recently the gradients, it is great to see that Arizona Basketball is finally back on the right track!
This year, Arizona did a great job in incorporating themes and designs from the popular basketball uniforms of the late 80s, with a fresh and updated look.
Well, now we also get to see the classic 1997 uniforms again with updated technology to the material used. The look is clean and simplistic, and fans of the nostalgic will get to see those popular uniforms on display again (even if the logos on the shorts are on the wrong side) when Arizona takes on No. 14 Indiana in the Las Vegas Clash!
I mean, just look at how beautiful these are!
