Adding another piece to the recruiting class of 2023, Arizona Football has received a commitment from Northern California CB, Emmanuel Karnley.

Things are progressing very quickly with the 2022 season officially over for Arizona Football. And for Jedd Fisch and the Wildcats, the focus has turned to the recruiting class for 2023.

Making news on Friday afternoon, after 2023 commit Sean Brown flipped his commitment from Arizona to Michigan State, the Wildcats secured a commitment from three-start cornerback, Emmanuel Karnley.

Announcing his commitment via social media, Karnley picked the Wildcats despite receiving interest from San Diego State, Arizona State, and Boston College among several others as well.

A standout three-star recruit in the class of 2023, Karnley is a big corner from Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek, CA.

Standing 6-feet-3-inches and weighing 185 pounds, Emmanuel Karnley will add immediate depth to the defensive secondary for Arizona Football.

Coming into the off-season, it is clear that the Wildcats are wanting to prioritize their recruiting on defense, particularly in the secondary.

And with the Wildcats seeing an influx of defensive players enter the transfer portal, naturally, Coach Fisch and Co. are wanting to supplement that talent and production with immediate-impact guys.

So far in the recruiting class for 2023, Arizona’s class has primarily been several defensive recruits, Emmanuel is just the latest of many additions to the class.

Joining Arizona, Emmanuel is a big and lengthy corner with tremendous size and length. With his size, he provides great coverage capability. Overall, he has good closing speed and he doesn’t shy from contact.

This is a player with continued development, and could turn out to be a great addition to the Wildcats’ secondary, and right now, the Wildcats desperately need it with Christian Roland-Wallace in the transfer portal.
