After climbing to No. 9 last week, Arizona Basketball (10-1, 1-1) climbed to No. 5 this week in the latest AP Top 25 poll.

We are quickly progressing through the 2022-23 Arizona Basketball season and already the Wildcats have piled up some nice wins, beating four Top 10 ranked teams.

And returning to the hardwood this past week for a mid-week showdown against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the Wildcats had a quick turnaround, facing then No. 6 ranked Tennessee in what was a slugfest.

Dominating the paint, Arizona came away with yet another convincing win against a very good Quad 1 team, improving to 10-1 on this young season.

And after their tremendous showing last week, Arizona climbed a little in the latest AP Poll that was announced on Monday afternoon, coming in at No. 5 this week.

Climbing back into the Top 5 in the latest AP Poll for the second time this season, Arizona Basketball will have a huge couple of weeks coming up.

Also joining Arizona from the Pac-12 Conference in the AP Top 25 was UCLA who checks in at No. 13 after a dominant week. Meanwhile, Arizona State has cracked the Top 25, checking in at No. 25 with USC on the outside looking in, earning 7 AP votes.

So, with the Wildcats climbing up to No. 5 in the country, they will have to remain focused this week as they take on Montana State on Tuesday evening followed by Morgan State on Thursday.

Assuming Arizona wins both of those games, we should be in for quite a showdown when the Wildcats travel to Tempe for a huge rivalry matchup between Top 25 teams on New Years’ Eve day.

Arizona cannot overlook anyone and they will need to stay hungry and humble if they look to continue climbing the ranks. Either way, this team should have a great opportunity to rise in the AP Top 25 rankings so long as they take care of business!
