For the Jazz, former Arizona Basketball star Lauri Markkanen is having a fantastic season and is a strong contender to play in his first All-Star game.

The Utah Jazz has named Lauri Markkanen “ICE COLD FINNISHER.” Markkanen has been a standout player in the NBA for the past few years but it seems he has found a team that helps him improve and stand out. His recent performances for the Utah Jazz have been nothing short of impressive, and his stats and ranking reflect this.

Markkanen is currently ranked in the top ten for three-point shooting percentage, shooting a remarkable 43.5 percent. He is also averaging 23.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, making him one of the most well-rounded players in the league.

In terms of rankings, Markkanen has consistently ranked among the top players in the league in several categories. He is 13th in the NBA in total points scored, and his overall shooting percentage is very impressive at 53.3 percent (62 percent FG and 84.7 percent FT).

Lauri’s averages so far this season equal the 2012-13 LeBron James season averages according to NBA_Math. That’s unbelievable!

Lauri has had a strong performance this season while playing for the Utah Jazz. And since the start of the season, Markkanen has consistently contributed to the team’s success on the court.

He currently ranks No. 15 in the NBA in efficiency (25.1), No. 14 in Field Goals made (291), and has played a ton of minutes (No. 16 in Minutes Played at 1187).

Markkanen had this to say about his team to Rory Maher of Hoops Nation:

"“We have a good team. We just have to stay on the same page and build off our chemistry. We have a lot of new guys. But that was the same thing last season when I was in Cleveland. Everyone was doubting you at the beginning of the year. Then we started out well. Having that experience and then going into training camp, I knew we had a good team. We just have to keep going and keep getting better with knowing each other and staying on the same page.”"

Here is a taste of Lauri’s exciting plays this season:

Overall, Lauri has had a strong performance this season for the Utah Jazz thus far; however, his team has a long way to go as they are currently ranked No. 10 in the Western Conference standing. He has led a Utah Jazz team that was projected to win just 27 games, to a respectable, 19-18 record.

It is no surprise that Markkanen has been able to achieve such impressive stats and rankings. He has been a consistent performer throughout his career, and his ability to score from both inside and outside the three-point line makes him a valuable asset to any team.

That said, the time is now to help our former Arizona Basketball star make this year’s NBA All-Star team as it is a popularity contest in a way. You can vote for Lauri by CLICKING HERE.
