Despite remaining at No. 5 for several weeks, Arizona Basketball (14-2, 3-2) dropped a bit this week, falling to No. 9 in the latest AP Top 25 rankings.

The 2022-23 Arizona Basketball season is steadily rolling along, and one week after their impressive win in Tempe, the Wildcats came crashing back down to reality.

Having a bit of an up-and-down week as they resumed Pac-12 play, the Wildcats were humbled when they barely escaped Washington in a 70-67 victory that was fueled by a big, second half run.

Unfortunately, that would be the highlight of their week as Arizona was crushed by the visiting Washington State Cougars on Saturday afternoon. Wazzu waxed the Cats by a 74-61 final in McKale.

And after their up-and-down week, Arizona made news on Monday afternoon as in the latest AP Top 25 Poll, the Wildcats checked in at No. 9 this week.

Still at a very respectable spot; however, Arizona Basketball did get a bit of humble pie in the latest AP Top 25 rankings.

Also joining Arizona from the Pac-12 Conference was UCLA that climbed to No. 7, meanwhile, no other Pac-12 schools received any other votes.

So, with the Wildcats now ranking No. 9 in the country, they will have to bounce back this week as they take on Oregon State in Corvallis on Thursday evening, followed by a tough matchup against Oregon in Eugene on Saturday evening.

As we learned this week, the Wildcats cannot overlook anyone and they will need to stay hungry and humble. Should the Wildcats take care of business these next couple of weeks, Arizona can continue to rise in the AP Top 25 rankings!
