Putting together a great 2023 recruiting class, Arizona Women’s Basketball signees Breya Cunningham and Jada Williams have been named McDonald’s All-Americans.

A great sign for things being on the rise for Arizona Women’s Basketball is how Adia Barnes and the Wildcats have been recruiting over the past couple of years.

Before her arrival as head coach in Tucson, the Wildcats were a doormat program of the Pac-12, plagued by porous play, development, and recruiting.

Well fast forward to now, and the program has come a long way, the 2023 recruiting class just further shows the progress made!

And having seldom signed any McDonald’s All-Americans in the program’s existence, Arizona will have two All-Americans for the second straight season.

Making news just days ago, five-star commits and La Jolla Country Day School/USA Basketball teammates Breya Cunningham and Jada Williams were named to the prestigious All-American game.

Both will be playing for the West team this year, and coincidentally enough, Cunningham and Williams will become the fourth and fifth McDonald’s All-Americans to play for Arizona.

In case you do not remember, Cate Reese became the first ever Arizona commit to ever play in the McDonald’s All-American in 2018. Meanwhile, Arizona had two last season as 2022 commits and current freshmen Maya Nnaji and Paris Clark were also named to the team.

As for Cunningham and Williams, they will have their chance to shine! Hailing from La Jolla Country Day School in Southern California, the high school teammates have shared a special bond since teaming up together at La Jolla, and they will continue that bond together as they play in the All-American game before coming to Arizona.

The McDonald’s All-American Game will be played in Houston, TX at the Toyota Center on Mar. 28, 2023.
