After climbing to No. 7 last week, Arizona Basketball dropped in the latest AP Rankings after losing a stunner to Arizona State at home.

We are getting closer and closer to March as Arizona Basketball is rolling along in the 2022-23 season. And after beating Utah and Colorado the week before to climb in the AP Rankings, the Wildcats were back in action looking to strengthen its tournament resume!

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Despite playing at home one final time for 2022-23 and being double-digit favorites against rival Arizona State, the Wildcats lost on a buzzer-beater half-court heave.

And after their loss to the Sun Devils at home this past weekend, Arizona fell in the latest AP Poll that was announced on Monday afternoon, this week checking in at No. 8.

Still at a very respectable spot; however, Arizona Basketball was served a bit of humble pie this week, as the Wildcats fell in the latest AP Rankings.

The Pac-12 Conference continues to be very top-heavy, and while UCLA continues to win, the Bruins check in at No. 4 this week; meanwhile, USC received three votes this week.

So, with the Wildcats now ranking No. 8 in the country, they will have to bounce back this week in a big way as Arizona travels to Los Angeles to take on the Southern California schools. Arizona will take on USC on Thursday evening, followed by a marquee showdown against UCLA on Saturday.

Once again, the Wildcats are proving that they cannot overlook anyone and they will need to bring focused energy if they hope to turn things around.

Should the Wildcats take care of business this week, Arizona could still have a case for a No. 2 seed in the upcoming NCAA Tournament!
