Arizona Game Preview:
Arizona got another big win on Friday, using a strong second-half effort to pace itself to the convincing, 19-point win over Arizona State in the semi-final round of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament.
However, coming into this one, UCLA is going to present yet another significant challenge for the Wildcats.
Aside from their injuries, the Bruins are still an extremely talented team and deep team, and they are playing very well right now, having won 12 straight. And coming into Saturday’s action, this should be another exciting matchup between the rival programs.
Overall, both teams share quite a competitive history, and while they may have mutual respect off the court, on the court these programs do not like each other much.
Having met several times in their history, UCLA leads the series 53-45 since 1966, with the Wildcats winning three of the last five meetings.
However, the last time these teams both played was last weekend in Pasadena where UCLA came away with a comfortable, 82-73 win over the visiting Wildcats.
Offensively, Arizona is going to need a much-better effort against UCLA’s elite defense if they are going to win this one. And beyond that, Arizona will need to bring a better effort defensively, as well as limit UCLA’s touch from behind the arc if they hope to knock off No. 2 UCLA! Tip-off is set for 8:30 P.M. Tucson time!
