With the 2023-24 Arizona Basketball season still several months away, Arizona Basketball announced they will play Alabama next season.

Just two weeks after their disappointing loss to Princeton in the NCAA Tournament, Arizona Basketball is already starting to gear up for next year.

And while the 2023-24 season may still be several months away, the Wildcats have added another opponent to its non-conference slate of games.

And making news on Monday afternoon via social media, it was announced that Arizona will face Alabama for a neutral-site game that will take place on December 20 at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

While the 2023-24 Arizona Basketball schedule becomes finalized over the next couple of months, the Wildcats will have a few key matchups for fans to watch.

So far, Arizona has one other high-profile opponent as they will face Duke for the start of a home-and-home series. The Wildcats will take on the Blue Devils in Durham, NC on November 10.

As for Alabama, the last time the Wildcats faced the Crimson Tide on the hardwood was during the 2018-19 season, when Arizona lost to Alabama in a 78-73 heartbreaker in Tuscaloosa.

Before that, Arizona beat Alabama at home by an 88-82 final inside McKale Center during the 2017-18 season. Unfortunately, Alabama holds the overall series lead by a 3-1 margin.

Coming into the 2023-24 season, Alabama should have a competitive group. Despite the impending departure of Brandon Miller to the NBA Draft, this is a group that was a No. 1 seed in the South Region.

Overall, the next couple of months for Arizona Basketball should be interesting, as fans of the Wildcats can follow the recruiting news as well as the schedule finalization for next season.
