Continuing to rack up the accolades, Arizona Basketball star forward Azuolas Tubelis has been named a John R. Wooden All-American.

Despite the unceremonious end to the 2022-23 season, overall, Arizona Basketball had a rather successful year, finishing the season with an impressive, 28 wins and a Pac-12 Conference Tournament Championship.

All the more impressive, is that Arizona did this while losing three players to the 2022 NBA Draft, and a big part of the Wildcats’ success this season was the play of junior forward, Azuolas Tubelis.

A talented and skilled forward, the Lithuanian native made tremendous strides this season, becoming a collegiate star and possible draft pick in the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft.

With an impressive feel for the game and soft touch around the rim, Azuolas was the first player to lead the Pac-12 Conference in both scoring and rebounding in quite some time as he finished his season averaging 19.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.

As a result, Tubelis has racked up the awards this off-season, finishing in second place in the Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year voting while also being named a First-Team Conference All-American and the Pac-12’s Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Beyond that, Tubelis was also named a 2nd-Team All-American by the Associated Press.

Not done racking up the accolades, Arizona Basketball star Azuolas Tubelis made more news on Thursday, as he was named a John Wooden All-American.

In 2022-23, Tubelis received plenty of recognition for his stellar play, and just weeks after being named a Second-Team All-American by the Associated Press, Tubelis can now add Wooden Award All-American to his resume.

The news broke via social media on Thursday afternoon, and while he may not be one of the five finalists for the Wooden Award, Azuolas has made the 10-player Wooden All-American team.

What’s next for Azuolas Tubelis?

As it stands, Azuolas’ future is still up in there air, as the Wildcat junior has not yet declared for the NBA Draft. Tubelis has until April 13 to declare!
