After a solid 2022-23 campaign with Arizona Basketball, junior wing Pelle Larsson announced that he will be returning to Tucson next season.

The 2022-23 Arizona Basketball season was a successful one all things considered. And despite the Wildcats’ first-round loss to Princeton, junior wing Pelle Larsson was a big part of Arizona’s overall success.

And after tantalizing the idea of staying in the NBA Draft, Larsson has ultimately decided to withdraw and return to school.

Making news via Social Media on Tuesday afternoon, the Wildcats’ standout surprised Arizona fans by announcing that he will be returning to Tucson for another season.

For those that don’t remember, Pelle was originally recruited by Utah out of high school, but after transferring to Arizona before the 2021-22 season, Larsson has become a key part of this program en route to winning the Pac-12’s Sixth Man Award in 2021-22. He was also a huge part of Arizona’s success this past season as well.

And as he returns for 2023-24, Pelle Larsson will likely be one of the anchors of Arizona Basketball next season.

As we all saw, despite Arizona losing three players to the NBA Draft in 2022, the Wildcats were still explosive offensively, putting up ridiculous numbers in 2022-23.

Larsson was a big part of that, averaging 9.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game in 35 games played (18 starts).

Now in what will be his final season in Tucson, Pelle will give it one last go with the Wildcats before moving on. And heading into 2023-24, he should have a huge impact with the Cats!

He was unquestionably the Wildcats’ best bench player last year once he got pulled from the starting lineup, and I can only see his role being even bigger next year. Plus, his veteran leadership and experience will be vital to the success of this team!
