Adding another late piece for 2023, Arizona Basketball has received a commitment from San Diego State transfer, Keshad Johnson.

After getting off to a slow start in the 2023 recruiting class, Arizona Basketball and Tommy Lloyd have had a busy couple of weeks, adding several late pieces to the Wildcats’ roster.

And breaking the news via social media on Saturday afternoon, the Wildcats picked up a commitment from San Diego State transfer, Keshad Johnson, one of the top players left uncommitted in the infamous transfer portal.

Keshad picked the Wildcats over Kentucky, USC, Oklahoma, and others!

Hailing from Oakland, Keshad Johnson is growing to bring immediate toughness and athleticism to Arizona Basketball.

It was just weeks ago that there were some concerns with this roster; however, there is hardly anyone in college basketball that has had a more fruitful couple of weeks than Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd.

Adding a solid core of KJ Lewis, Jaden Bradley, Motiejus Krivas, and Paulius Murauskas, Keshad is the latest to join the fold.

Coming in, Keshad is a big-time addition for the Wildcats, as he is considered by many to be one of the best players in the transfer portal. And with his length, athleticism, and experience, he will help the Wildcats immediately.

At 6-feet-7-inches, Keshad is a skilled forward with solid upside offensively, and a high motor and physicality that makes him an excellent defender.

On an Aztecs team that went to the National Championship, Johnson started in all 39 games with San Diego State, averaging a very respectable 7.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game on 53.2 percent shooting from the field.

Overall, Arizona has made great progress in the recruiting class for 2023, and with the others on board as well, Tommy and the Wildcats have a solid core! Just take a look at Arizona’s latest commitment!
