UNC’s Caleb Love announces transfer to Arizona Basketball
Adding another late piece for 2023, Arizona Basketball has received a commitment from North Carolina transfer, Caleb Love.
My, what a busy couple of weeks it has been for Arizona Basketball and Tommy Lloyd. Despite getting off to a slow start, the Wildcats have added another late piece to the roster for next season.
Breaking news via social media on Tuesday afternoon, the Wildcats picked up another commitment for 2023, this time adding North Carolina transfer, Caleb Love, one of the top players left uncommitted in the infamous transfer portal.
Caleb originally picked Michigan, but after the stars didn’t seemingly align, Caleb found himself back on the market, and Arizona beat out several schools for the skilled guard.

Originally hailing from St. Louis, Caleb Love will bring immediate talent, skill, and experience to Arizona Basketball in 2023-24.
Things are certainly heating up in the old Southwest, and I am not talking about the weather in Tucson hitting triple digits. No, in fact, it was just weeks ago that there were some concerns over the lack of players committed for 2023, but since then, Tommy Lloyd and the Cats have been seeing several recruiting wins.
Beyond adding a solid core of KJ Lewis, Jaden Bradley, Motiejus Krivas, Paulius Murauskas, and Keshad Johnson, Caleb is the latest to join the Wildcats.
Coming in, Caleb is a big-time addition for the Wildcats, as he is considered by many to be one of the best players in the transfer portal. And with his experience and scoring ability, he helps this roster become a competitive one.
At 6-feet-4-inches, Love is a volume scorer, but in a run-and-gun offense like Lloyd’s, he should thrive well in a system that will allow him to find open looks, rather than have to create any offense on his own.
On a Tar Heels team that went to the National Championship just two seasons ago, Caleb has been a big part of North Carolina’s success, appearing in 101 games (96 starts), averaging an impressive 14.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game on 36.0 percent shooting from the field.
Overall, Arizona has made great progress in the recruiting class for 2023, and with the others on board as well, Tommy and the Wildcats have a solid core! Just take a look at Arizona’s latest commitment!
