Local 5-Star DE Elijah Rushing commits to Arizona Football

Securing their biggest commitment for 2024, local five-star Edge Rusher Elijah Rushing has committed to Arizona Football.

WOW! What a month and a half have head coach Jedd Fisch and Arizona Football had! Weeks after picking up several commitments for 2024, the Wildcats just completed the unthinkable.

Making national recruiting news on Tuesday afternoon, Arizona landed yet another verbal commitment, this time it is arguably their biggest in program history, securing a commitment from five-star Edge Rusher, Elijah Rushing!

A local product, Elijah announced his commitment at his high school, picking the Wildcats over Oregon, Tennessee, and Notre Dame most notably among several others.

A big and physical edge rusher that hails from Salpointe Catholic High School just up the road in Tucson, Arizona has added a massive piece to the recruiting class of 2024.

Standing a massive 6-feet-5-inches and weighing 251 pounds, Elijah Rushing should bring immediate talent and depth to Arizona Football.

So far in the past month, Arizona has been busy, adding 15 commitments as Elijah becomes the latest to join the fold.

A talented and skilled edge rusher, Elijah is one of the best players in the country for a reason, and at his size, he has the body and physical traits to be a dominant athlete.

He is an elite pass rusher with off-the-charts athleticism, and coming in ranked as the No. 1 Edge Rusher and 8th overall prospect in the class, he is a program-changer.

In three seasons at Salpointe, Elijah has put up insane numbers, totaling 161 tackles (64 solo), with 24.5 tackles for loss, and 19.0 sacks according to Maxpreps.

Overall, he has all the tools to be an elite college player, and with continued development, he is going to be a staple along this defensive line for Arizona Football!
