Returning to Tucson for the kick-off of the 2023 season, Nick Foles will once again reunite with the Arizona Football team.
It is always great seeing former Wildcats hanging around the program, especially when one of those former players happens to be the highly accomplished and legendary Foles.
A former quarterback transfer from Michigan State in 2007, Nick came to Tucson and surprised many in the process, especially as he competed with then-quarterback Matt Scott at the time, eventually replacing him as the permanent starter in 2009.
In a short time, Foles would dominate arguably becoming the best quarterback in Arizona Football history in the process!
Appearing in 35 games for Arizona, Foles threw for 10,011 yards and 67 touchdowns to just 33 interceptions. He would also complete 933-1396 passes (66.8 percent).
From 2009-11, Arizona would post a 19-19 record with two bowl appearances with Foles at the helm, even leading the Wildcats to a 7-1 start in 2010.
Following his career at Arizona, Nick would eventually be drafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, going 88 overall to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he would put together a solid pro career from 2012-22.
Appearing in 71 games (58 starts), Foles has thrown for 14,227 yards on 1,302-2,087 passing (62.4 percent) with 82 touchdowns to 47 interceptions.
His career highlight; however, was leading Philadelphia to a Super Bowl victory over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII where he was named the games MVP after completing 28 of 43 passes for 373 yards, three passing touchdowns, and a receiving touchdown, to just one interception.
Foles’ return to Tucson will be sure to be welcomed by the many fans in attendance!
