Arizona Basketball climbs to No. 3 in the Associated Press Poll

Following its huge win over then No. 2 ranked Duke, Arizona Basketball has made the jump to No. 3 overall in the latest Associated Press poll.

This past week was a huge one for Arizona Basketball. Officially kicking off its 2023-24 season last Monday against Morgan State, the Wildcats opened the year by waxing the visiting by 63 points.

Following that win, the Wildcats would have a massive test as they took on the host Duke Blue Devils. Then No. 2 ranked, Arizona was up to the challenge as they stunned the host Blue Devils at home, en route to the 78-73 victory.

And making news on Monday afternoon, the Wildcats jumped a massive, nine spots in the AP Top 25 Poll, checking in at No. 3 this week.

Barely a week into the season and Arizona is getting a lot of recognition for their stellar early on!

As it stands, the Wildcats are currently 2-0 on the year and are sitting at their highest ranking since the 2021-22 season.

Hoping to have another great week this week, Arizona Basketball should be tested significantly over the next several weeks!

So far, Arizona Basketball is just one of three ranked teams from the Pac-12, joining No. 16 USC and No. 25 Colorado this week in the AP Top 25.

Arizona may have a few tune-up games over the next week with matchups against Southern, Belmont, and UT Arlington looming, but after that is when things intensify as Arizona will play No. 18 Michigan State (Nov. 23), Wisconsin (Dec. 9), No. 2 Purdue (Dec. 16), No. 22 Alabama (Dec. 20), and No. 10 FAU (Dec. 23).

Even with the jump in ranking, the Wildcats will have to remain focused even with a slight dip in the level of competition!
