With Arizona Football taking on Arizona State in the annual Territorial Cup, could the Wildcats be using the old ‘Block A’ for the rivalry matchup?

Who doesn’t love nostalgia, especially when it involves our beloved Arizona Football and the annual, Territorial Cup?

Well, making news on Thursday afternoon, the Arizona Football social media page sent out a flashback tweet to when Chuck Cecil intercepted an errant ASU pass and returned it 106 yards for a touchdown in 1986.

So big deal, it is just a standard tweet about Arizona beating those guys up north from a while back, who cares, right?

Well, perhaps in a cryptic manner, Arizona added an image of the old logo they once wore from 1981-89 at the end of the video. The image has many fans (us included) theorizing that this was the Athletic Department’s deliberate hint that the old logo could be making an appearance this weekend in the Territorial Cup.

While not official, the throwback logo would be welcomed by Wildcats fans, as well as an ode to Arizona Football fans who remember the old-school brand.

At this point, not much is currently known on whether the Wildcats will even don the old school ‘block A’ this weekend; however, it is fun to theorize about and is leaving fans hopeful.

I mean, after all, Arizona State will be wearing Sporky… I mean, Sparky this weekend, so why can’t we have a little throwback?

Currently, Arizona Football is having its best season in nearly a decade, and the Wildcats have the potential to play for something even bigger should Oregon State knock off Oregon this weekend in the annual ‘Civil War’.

At the end of the day, what Arizona Football wears, pales in comparison to the results on the field, so let’s just hope takes care of business this weekend, old-school logo or not.
