Arizona Wildcats Baseball is benefiting from a leader that probably never should have stayed for another year.

Riley Moore has been Arizona Wildcats Baseball quite leader on a team that was not expected to do much this season. The 6 foot 3 inch, left-handed hitting, right-handed catching senior out of Santa Barbera, California has been a leader at the plate and behind it.
No one thought that Moore would be back for another season. Moore was never expected back for his final year, he was projected to be drafted in the 2014 MLB Draft. Unfortunately for Moore his name was not called. Things happen for a reason and he is now making the best of his chance this season.
As a fan you couldn’t be happier to have a Senior leader on a team full of underclassmen. Riley is 1 of 5 Seniors on the roster, the only senior to play in every game this season, starting 33 out of 34 games. Moore has been the starting catcher since the 2012 championship season for Coach Andy Lopez and Arizona Wildcats Baseball.
On the hitting side of the plate Moore is having a good year, it could actually be his best hitting year with Wildcats Baseball. With a batting average of .318, 3 home runs, and 28 runs batted in.
Arizona Wildcats
Having been to a few games and catching more on TV its the things you can’t see in the stats sheet or as just and average baseball or Arizona Wildcats Baseball fan. Moore has controlled some great and inexperienced talent on the pitching staff. A pitching staff that was not expected to produce much, but with Moore’s experience and skill behind the plate they have turned some heads.
Moore has seemed to know exactly when to slow the game down for his pitcher and how to also keep his pitcher calm and focused. Like the staff needed anymore reasons to trust in Moore, he has been lights out behind the plate putting up a .995 fielding percentage this season. Even helping the team break into the Top-25 a couple of weeks ago.
Some people have been critical of Riley Moore and his play with the Wildcats Baseball team. Then again when you a great freshman year that was capped off by winning a National Championship, how do you top that? Although Moore may not lead us to another title this season he will leave some big shoes to fill in for whoever is to come in next.
Then again following Wildcats Baseball and the fight and come back in this team I wouldn’t completely count us out of anything. Especially with Moore leading us from behind the plate we might make some noise in the weeks to come.
It’s getting to the end of the year and heart of the schedule and im sure Moore and Wildcats Baseball could use your support going into postseason play.
