Friday came and went as the 2015 NFL Rounds two and three determined the destination team for 60+ additional former NCAA Football players.
Sixteen more Pac-12 football players were selected in the draft in rounds two and three on Friday. Brace yourself, no Wildcats were picked up. That said, the Pac-12 is getting a lot of love in the draft.
The Pac sent 16 players to the @NFL today, and leads all conf's w/ 25 picks so far.

ROUND 2: Six Pac-12 Players
- 44 – DE Hau’Oli Kikaha New Orleans Saints Washington
- 45 – LB Eric Kendricks Minnesota Vikings UCLA
- 47 – CB Eric Rowe Philadelphia Eagles Utah
- 51 – DE Nate Orchard Cleveland Browns Utah
- 53 – T Jake Fisher Cincinatti Bengals Oregon
- 64 – S Jordan Richards New England Patriots Stanford
ROUND 3: Ten Pac-12 Players
- 66 – G Jeremiah Poutasi Tennessee Titans Utah
- 70 – WR Jaelen Strong Houston Texans Arizona State
- 71 – C Hroniss Grasu Chicago Bears Oregon
- 74 – DE Owamagbe Odighizuwa New York Giants UCLA
- 80 – CB Alex Carter Detroit Lions Stanford

- 93 – DE Henry Anderson Indianapolis Colts Stanford
- 94 – WR Ty Montgomery Green Bay Packers Stanford
- 96 – DE Xavier Cooper Cleveland Browns Washington State
- 98 – CB Steven Neslon Kansas City Chiefs Oregon State
Total Pac-12 players drafted in the first three rounds is 25; Round 1 – 9, Round 2-6, Round 3-10 and still no Arizona Wildcats, which again was expected, but this is just not making any sense to me. The trend here however is a lot of the defensive player positions are being filled in these later rounds first. Of the 25 total Pac-12 picks only six are offensive players, that’s only 24%.
Some of our @ZonaZealots followers agree that our players are highly coachable, and Arizona is winning because of the coaching and ability to get the most out of our players, great team play. I have heard sportscasters say scouts look only at the athlete’s athleticism, but I have to think there are other factors, or why would some picks move so far down the list for off-field antics.
I will just be happy when I hear the name of the first Wildcat drafted, this isn’t helping our recruitment, but I think great things are coming for our football players. After all, Foles went in the third round and look what he is accomplishing.
