(No. 6) Arizona 78  Arizona State 81

I thought this one deserved a little credit because T.J. had his Arizona career high in this rivalry game.

The bad news was the Cats somehow lost this game at McKale North in Tempe after the devils shot 50 percent from the field. It was one of Arizona’s worst defensive performances of the year.

Arizona fans knew it was not the Cats day when Bo Barnes hit a miraculous fade away three-pointer with 55 seconds left. That gave ASU a seven-point cushion.  The devils hit some clutch free throws in the final 30 seconds to clinch the victory.

T.J. shot 75 percent from outside the arc and made scoring look easy against the devils.

McConnell had 25 points, five rebounds and four assists at Wells Fargo Arena in front of a 50/50 crowd of Wildcats and devils fans.
