Enough about the defense, let’s talk a little about offense.

The Offense was not spared when it comes to major injuries, losing center Carter Wood to a career-ending injury preseason has come to make a big difference as well.

Changing the center in the fourth quarter was brilliant. Zach Hemmila did an excellent job, and while he was playing, no one could blame a high, flat or sideways snap for any broken play.

“All week we’ll practice both Cayman [Bundage] and Zach Hemmila at center, and when they’re not playing center they’ll play guard” – Coach Rich Rodriguez

We asked Coach Rodriguez what he is who will he play at center against Washington since ZZ followers have been asking what’s being done about those high snaps.  “All week we’ll practice both Cayman [Bundage] and Zach Hemmila at center, and when they’re not playing center they’ll play guard,” he said, “Cayman’s a great football player, and if he’s not going to play center, we think he can contribute at guard. So we’ll practice it all week and determine it Saturday.”

Jason Scheer, Wildcat Authority, confirmed the centers shared reps during practice.

What’s intriguing is where the two Arizona quarterback land in the latest Pac-12 QB rankings. Both Anu Solomon (No. 6) and Jerrard Randall (No. 5) rank in the top half of all Pac-12 quarterbacks. Surprised?  Arizona quarterbacks have only thrown one interception between them. New this week to Arizona’s passing stats, WR Cayleb Jones is now listed with one completed pass.

Many folks in the media asked Rodriguez who he was going to start at Quarterback, seems to be the big mystery each week. It’s a great tactic since both Arizona quarterbacks are very different, it will force opponents to prepare for both.  Each time Randalls name is called to sub in for Anu, he seems to have his way with the opponents defense on the first couple plays running the ball.

Maybe Rodriguez will throw in a couple trick plays, at this point might not be such a bad idea.

Quarterback and Center, which combination will be on the field in the rain in Seattle in the newly renovated Husky Stadium in a very late game (8:30 p.m. PST)? And will our defense step it up?

Pray that they do! It can’t hurt.
