4-Star Greg Johnson agrees Arizona Football Class of 2017 is tight

Arizona Football commit Greg Johnson’s Hawkins Boys just demolished another team on their way to the CIF Los Angeles City Division II Championship.

The Arizona Football recruiting class of 2017 is ranked No. 16 in the Nation. That’s about 30 slots above what the last two classes. The question Wildcats fans have asked over and over is, “Will the Arizona Football commits will now de-commit based on the Wildcats losing 2016 season?” We will try to answer that question along with bringing you an update on our top commit Greg Johnson.

Last Friday night, Augustus Hawkins Hawks beat down the Canoga Park Hunters by a whopping 58 points, 65-7. The Hawks are competing in Division II in the Los Angeles City Football Playoffs for 2016.

Our commit Greg Johnson, who ranks No. 7 in his position (ATH) Nationally, No. 12 in California, and No. 20 overall in the West. contributed to the win in a big way.

Johnson ran seven times for 86 yards (12.3 Avg.) and two touchdowns; his 12 points was the second highest of the eight players who scored on Friday night. Jones made an interception and ran it for eight yards, and it would have been two but the second very close one eluded him.

There are now at least six other Hawkins football players who have received offers from the Wildcats coaches including the latest entry, freshman CB Brandon Jones. Johnson is an upper classman and mentor to Jones, and the two are close. In fact, the whole team is close.

Hawkins HS (12-0), ranks as the No. 1 seed going into the tournament, will take on the No. 4 seed Grant High School next week. Grant (7-5) is another school from the San Fernando Valley like their last opponent Canoga Park. The Los Angeles City Division spans the city of Los Angeles as well as the county of Los Angeles.

We asked top Arizona commit Greg Johnson and recruit Brandon Jones how things were going after the game, and if Arizona’s season has any impact on their decision. He tells us about how close the incoming class is and more.
